Persian Baluch Rugs

Baluch Rugs (also Beluchi carpets) are handmade carpets originally by Baluch nomads, living near the border between Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. In southeastern of Iran, the nomadic Baluchi ethnic groups of Baluchistan weave Persian Baluch rugs. Persian traditional rugs, are tribal style rugs with copper, cream, dark Brown, dark navy and also red accent colors. They are handmade and 100% wool with 100% cotton foundation. These carpets are often small with lively patterns. The dominating colors are usually red, brown and dark blue. And the warp is wool or a mixture of wool and goat hair. However, newer carpets have a warp made of cotton.
Creative or historical opponents, however, argued that most of the designs encountered in Baluch weaving are closely same as the rugs of the neighboring Turkaman tribes.
